After finally capturing a gorgeously purrfect photo of Miss Gali,
I was able to create a layout of her, worthy of being framed!
Gali is a timid girl and it's very hard to capture her gorgeous blue eyes wide open.
This photo was taken September 6th, but I waited for the perfect paper for this beauty!
The new and GORGEOUS Blue Fern Studios
Full of RICH blue; purple; cream; gold; burgundy; green!
I cut out several cards in the collection and arranged them in fan fashion to go behind the photo.
I used a rounded corner punch on the photo for extra interest.
I die cut a piece of beautiful blue paper from the collection to go directly under the photo.
The photo is popped up with cardboard.
I chose only the word "Purrfect" for the title.
This is heat embossed in BFS luscious EP color "In the Navy"!
How GORGEOUS!
Below the photo area and centered on the page is BFS Eclectic Charm chipboard Border.
It's got a gorgeous design that matched beautifully with the paper.
My concern is that BFS new chipboard is about one third the thickness that they used to be.
Here is what happened when I heat embossed it using the same
"In the Navy" EP that I used on the title.
|
When heat embossed, the new BFS chipboard curled up and didn't take the color fully. |
|
A second coat of Embossing Powder was added and now the color is right. Also, the curled edge went down more. |
Now my favorite part began!
Adding flowers and embellishments!
The Eclectic Charm Ephemera is so pretty!
The flying bird is actually carrying a piece of mail,
but I decided to cut it out and make my own piece of mail!
So, on the opposite side of the page,
what better to have than an ornate Letterbox!
I painted it first with Gold Metallic Acrylic paint.
Then I heat embossed the letterbox & sign with "In the Navy".
I added a computer printed "Gali" adhered to the sign.
On the letterbox, I put in gold glitter stickers #10.
Gali is 10 years old.
ReneaBouquet's Beautiful Board "Quilled Leaves" in size small were just perfect for this layout!!
They are heat embossed with BFS beautiful green EP color "Avocado".
I also chose ReneaBouquet's "Frosty Kisses" butterflies!
They are light blue with navy blue centers.
GORGEOUS & PERFECT!
My choices for the flowers stayed within the same vintage colors that are on the paper -
Navy Blue; light blue; golden yellow; burgundy; caramel.
Ephemera card stock pieces are strategically placed and tucked around the layout;
with some of them popped up with foam tape.
The very last thing was to add Prills in "I'm A-Maized" color.
Thanks for coming by!
Have a great weekend too,
Lisa >^..^<
