Remarkable Lucy

Sharing a bright and fun layout using a photo taken 12-4-16 of Lucy.
The first word I said when I saw the photo was 'remarkable'.

I loved how Lucy looked on this K&Company SW Nature paper!
I used the 3D butterfly stickers from the same collection.

I knew that I would use this ultra-adorable wood 'LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU Heart' on a layout of one of my kitties!
I mixed Bright Red & Terra Cotta acrylic paint together to produce the red-orange color I wanted.
As you can see the entire heart is made up of the word 'LOVE'.
I just had to make the one 'YOU' really stand out, so I painted it in Butter Cream color.

I pictured this precious wooden heart as a balloon floating over Lucy's photo.
Using The Dusty Attic teeny tiny ABCs that I heat embossed with Blue Fern Studios Summer Leaves,
I placed the word 'Remarkable' in a wavy fashion to resemble the balloon string.

I've been dying to use this new Tattered Lace die Ava Flower and it was just perfect for this layout!
I decorated some of the flower centers with tiny rhinestones.

And here is Lucy's name that I simply acrylic painted in Butter Cream color.

Thanks so much for coming by and have a great day!  Lisa : )

32 - for Joe

I've created a simple, but elegant, layout of me when I was 32 years old.
This Glamour Shots Studio professional photo was taken just two months before
marrying my dear husband Joe in 1993.
I was shopping in Houston for my off-the-rack wedding gown and this photo session was part of the agenda.
Joe kept my framed 8x10 gift of this photo on his desk at work : )

I chose flesh, white and gold for the color palette.
I'm wearing a gold sequined bustier and a white leather jacket with gold studs on the lapel.
The makeup they used will hide any flaw you may have.  They even fix your hair.
In my case, I was "razzle-dazzled" with teased, sprayed hair
and what a great color the makeup artist chose for my lips to match my nail polish color (a dark rose).
She gave me a dramatic look with dark eye shadow & accentuated my high cheek bones with dark blush.
My hair is just below waist length at this age.

Best of all is that I used the embroidered edging from my wedding gown to adorn the bottom of the layout.
I sewed on white pearls that were also on my wedding gown.

The gorgeous print on Blue Fern Studios paper inspired me to mimic it.
First, here are the draped pearl strands I made using pearls from my wedding gown.
See the printed strands in the paper?

I used Blue Fern Studios chipboard Marrakesh Panel, which matches the print in the paper!
It's heat embossed in Stampendous Frantáge Shabby White that has gold flecks in it.

Now, check out how gorgeous the gold glass glitter is!

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!  Lisa : )

17

I've been in the mood to scrap a girly page so I could use some new leaf dies I just bought.
I found this photo of me when I was 17 years old while looking through a very old photo album of mine.
My how things have changed! (hee hee)

I chose a color palette to match the rosy-pink, olive & blush shades in this gorgeous Blue Fern paper as well as the terra-cotta tones in the photo.  My design includes honeycomb shapes in the stenciling, punching and
Blue Fern Studios chippies, which coordinate nicely with the diamond print along the paper's edge.
Starting with the shapes, here is a close up of both the subtle stenciling & a peek at the Geometric edge punch.

Now for those wonderful new dies I just got in!!
I order my Tattered Lace dies (designed in Britain/made in the USA) from Frantic Stamper.
This one is 'Meadow Leaves'.
I added 'Rose Gold' colored Liquid Pearls to some of the leaf tips to make "berries".

Beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts flowers in olive and blush look great on the chipboard that is heat embossed in Distress color 'Old Paper', which has a very light "olivey" tone to it.

I cut the Blue Fern Studios 'Collage Border' in half, placing part under the photo -

and part at the bottom of the layout - (notice the honeycomb shape in the chippies & the punch?)

I'm ALL about butterflies!  And these Blue Fern Studios 'Bohemian Butterflies' are out of this world!!
I wanted them to really stand out and pop off the page,
so I mixed three Blue Fern embossing powders together to accomplish the right color.
I mixed 'Melon', 'Auburn & 'Nutmeg' for the main color.  Then touches of 'Cotton Candy' were added.

Blue Fern Studios '14 Karat' Imagine Ink embossing powder is simply WOW!

Because of the keys in the chippie, I added a skeleton key that I saved
from my dear hubby's old shotgun rack that had a locking drawer.  : )

I certainly appreciate your visit and hope you can come back again some time.
Have a wonderful day!  Lisa : )
