Sympathy Card for Donna Anderson's Family

A very special, well-liked lady in the crafting community,
Donna Anderson,
has passed away after a recurrence of colon cancer.

Donna was very upbeat & positive.
She was very thoughtful of others and always generous
with time to make comments on everyone's creations.
She will be deeply missed by many.

I've made a Sympathy Card for her dear family,
especially for her devoted and loving wife, Kerry Gaines,
and for her two daughters,
Michelle Anderson & Ellen Marie Martinez.

The card is simple because I want the butterfly to be the focus.
For me, this butterfly represents Donna, who is now reborn.
I've used Blue Fern Studios beautiful Bird Waltz collection.

The Ephemera in this collection has a butterfly image on a circle piece.
This piece happened to fit perfectly in the Blue Fern Studio "Ornate Frame"!!
I had to cut off a little bit of the frame so it would fit on the 5" x 6-3/4" card.
I also die cut two different sized rings to go under the chipboard frame to help hide the piece of cardboard under the butterfly.
The frame is heat embossed in BFS color "Pink Dust".

The inside of the card is blank,
which will allow me to write a personal note to Donna's family.

Thanks for dropping by.
Please keep Donna & her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Lisa

Paulette's Birthday Card

I created a birthday card for a very dear sweet friend, Paulette.
She's married to my 1st cousin/Godfather, Butch.
I had such a tough time trying to create a card for her
because I wanted it to be really special.
After 3 tries - YES 3 tries,
I finally got it!

I changed to a different paper collection -
Maja Design "Denim & Girls" collection!
This was the antidote needed for my 'ailment'.

I've never made an angled pocket card before.
I'm very happy with how it turned out!

Amazing how different pages from a collection really complement one another! So many beautiful patterns coordinating together.
I used 3 different pages from the collection, including the backsides.
This includes using some of the backsides for a couple of cute tags
I made to go into the pocket.

Using the words & quotes from the bottom of pages,
I was able to put together meaningful embellishments on the tags!
Each is popped up with foam adhesive tape.

ReneaBouquets butterflies are beyond luscious!
I just can't ever say enough about them.
They truly ramp up any creation to a higher level!
The detailing, quality of the paper & beautiful printing are impeccable!
These "Cherry Blossom" butterflies are among my most favorites.

A small flower arrangement of Wild Orchid Crafts wild roses & aster daisies match so perfectly with the flowers printed on the paper!

The flower print details on the bottom of the pink piece of the card is the strip that you normally cut off and throw away that's on every scrapbook paper page.
I thought it really added to the overall look of the card!
I slightly trimmed it with deco scissors to give it a ruffle look.

Also, notice the piece with the hearts printed on it just below the flower arrangement?  This is a piece of bottom strip that I used as an embellishment!
Navy blue rhinestones placed below it help draw your eye to it.

Much love and Happy Birthday wishes to Paulette!
Thanks for coming by!
