Pink Paislee - All Occasion Card

I'm really having a blast with card making!
AND best of all, I'm using my older stash!

Here is a card that I hope will someday become a special gift for someone.
I left room both at the top and bottom of the card to place a sentiment if I want to.

I recently made a Sympathy Card that you can see here.
While this very old Pink Paislee collection was spread out in front of me,
another similar card was made.
The same Crimson cardstock was used as the base for this 4 x 5 card.

I cut strips of paper with deco-edge scissors in a large and small scallop shape.
Each edge was then inked.
They were adhered in layers to form a ruffled look.

I selected a butterfly from K&Company's collection that has the perfect colors in it.
A unique chipboard piece from Kora Projects was added on the side of the butterfly for extra interest.
I first sprayed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst color Alpine Ice Rose
but it was just TOO ORANGE.
So, I heavily sprayed it with LSG's Starburst color Cotton Candy Pink.
The two colors combined produced a nice rosy pink color.
PERFECT!

Green microbeads were glued inside some of the berries of the chipboard.
This coordinates with the colors in the butterfly.

Another card for my card drawer, ready to be used in the future.
I've placed a piece of cream colored cardstock with it
so a printed or written note can be put on the inside.

Thanks for coming by and hope you have a great day!

Sympathy Card (for Randy)

A very good friend of my husband's suffered the loss of his father recently.
I know in my heart that Joe would want Randy to know that he had heartfelt sympathies.
So I made a 4 x 5 card from Joe & me and mailed today.

The inspiration for this design is from a sweet and talented lady, Marylou.
She's made several cards by layering torn strips.
However, instead of tearing the strips, I used my deco-edge scissors in a large & small Scalloped shape.

Although I mainly create layouts, I've really been enjoying making cards lately.
I've always wondered what in the world to do with the pages in some collections
that are just different designs in strips.
Well, thanks to Marylou, for me, this is the answer!
Make cards with them!
Even if you don't tear or deco-cut them, these multi-strip-design papers make nice cards!

I used solid cardstock as the base for the card.
To this I adhered each varying sized scalloped layer, so they formed a ruffled pattern.

Then a butterfly and leafy berry branch chipboard were added.

I simply inked the branch with Chalk Ink color Dark Brown.
Then adhered crackle dots where the berry shapes are.

A personal sentiment was computer printed and then die cut & adhered inside the card.
I know in my heart that Joe is very happy that I made Randy this card.

Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend!

Happiness Tag for Kay

My dear friend, Kay, is such a wonderfully nice lady
and certainly deserves a colorful tag full of happiness!
The tag measures just over 4-1/4" x 7-1/2"

The front of the tag has a sentiment about happiness.
(I saw this on a card made by Patricia Basson).
I just KNEW that it was exactly what I wanted to say to Kay!

I started by die-cutting the tag and the front & backside papers to adhere to it.
The gorgeous 49 and Market Cottage Life papers remind me of Kay because she has a feminine country style.

Starting with the backside of the tag,
I made sure to cut the paper so that the
sweet wooden wheelbarrow full of flowers would decorate it!
I added an encouragement sentiment along the bottom,
because Kay sure has been through so much in recent years,
including battling and winning against cancer.

Everyone has it in them to accomplish things!

ReneaBouquet's Beautiful Board "Wildflower Elements" was oh so perfect for this tag!
I colored it with two Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays that are unfortunately now retired.
They are colors Wisteria Purple Blue & Voodoo Violet Blue.

I then blinged it up with pink rhinestones from Want2Scrap!

ReneaBouquet's Printed Beautiful Board "Gracie Butterflies" had the perfect colors of blue & purple!!
Love the flower in the center of the wings on the butterfly's body.
Although tempted to add rhinestones to the wings,
I decided that they are just perfectly gorgeous the way they are!
These little beauties are adorable & just plain WOW

The tag is decorated with a variety of beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts flowers!
A couple of metal ladybugs set among them makes a cute surprise.

Placing random pink bling on the tag really added that extra "girly" feel!
And 49 and Market's Wishing Bubbles in Grape Soda color are so dreamy!

I've been buying from Fran Robertshaw at Frantic Stamper for many years.
She carries so many brands that you would be amazed!
I highly recommend her for many of your crafting needs!
They ship quickly and your order is always accurate.

Now for some close up photos to share!

And what is anything without FAITH?

There is quite a bit of dimension, as you can see!

Thank you so much for viewing Kay's tag!

Have a great week,
Lisa : )
