Waterfall of Knowledge

My newest coloring that I've titled "Waterfall of Knowledge".
Clever, isn't it?
Very time consuming coloring, but what else do I have but time!?!
This is by far the most colorful library I've ever seen! HA

I have to say it once again.....
Kerby Rosanes has a remarkable imagination!

Let me also say this....I was disappointed in something that I ran across.
Anytime there are heavy marks (shadings) made by the illustration artist, when you try to blend colors over that, the black from the print gets blended into it all.
This coloring book is high quality so you can't say it's the paper causing it.
This is a 1st lesson learned for me.
So, I had to re-color the waterfall several times.

Now, on to the rest of my photos.
Enjoy....

Kerby Rosanes always puts a little surprise in his drawings...
Looks like a Niagra Falls tour boat (LOL!)

And there are boulders too!

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to view my coloring.
This is an art that I hope I never tire of.
It's very enjoyable!

Have a safe, healthy year ahead!
Lisa

Happy Sloth Village

I've titled this coloring "Happy Sloth Village"
because it's quite obvious to me!

I'm still learning how to shade and blend
but having a whole lot of fun doing it!

Let's take some closer looks of the happy little village!
All have a thatched roof, that I've shaded in straw-like colors.

Varying bright colors personalize each little house.

Some of the houses have darker shadings.

The illustration artist, Kerby Rosanes,
always incorporates unique & fun surprises for your discovery!
A hermit crab living in the tree (LOLOLOLOL)!

Lastly,
a couple of close photos of this adorable sloth......
I gave her shadings in a reddish-brown.

The greenish 'patches' on the tree are fungus patches
which are seen in trees frequented by sloths.

Thank you for viewing my coloring!

Lotus-Born Happy Humpback Whales

I'm sharing a pencil coloring I've completed today!
The title will be self-explanatory when you view the pages below.

I'm so very intrigued with this artist's imagination!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE whales
and am very concerned for their plight from Japanese whalers.
It really saddens me.

This is the very first time that I've used Prismacolor colored pencils!
They feel like 'silk' as they glide along the page.

I watched several online videos from different artists
and learned a few techniques, like blending and shading.
I'm completely AMAZED at what colorless blending pencils can do!
They turn an otherwise streaky pencil coloring
into a smooth 'painting'!
WOW!

I really LOVE this new-found LOVE!

Now, let's look at some really close ups
and let me share my thoughts with you.

I decided that the 'unborn' whales would be swimming
in luscious purple colored water with aqua bubbles.
Some of the bubbles were given 'reflection' by using a white gel pen.

The gorgeous lotus flowers are colored in
three blended-together shades of purple.

Look closely at the explosion of water.
I made sure that purple water turned into aqua water.

I just LOVE the tiny baby whales emerging from the water.

I thought that this 'surprise', in one of the lilies, was a tin can,
to symbolize trash in our oceans.
However, I recently learned that it turns out to be an
"Egyptian God" on a piece of stone! LOL

I really enjoyed shading the lily pads in two different greens.

Why color a frog green when you can color it red instead?

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my pencil coloring!
Have a great day,
