Nugg

I'm very excited about my newest layout!

I'm keeping this one for myself...hee hee

Nugg is the nickname for little Nugget.

Isn't she precious?!

I recently got the new 49 and Market paper collection Bold & Beautiful!

Ohhhhhh - it really IS a gorgeous collection!

I first coated the page with clear gesso.

Then I stenciled the gorgeous Prima - Finnabair Wild Berries with white crackle paste.

WOW! I LOVE this stencil!!

I applied a mixture of Lindy's Stamp Gang's Whale Watch Blue mica powder & water
to parts of the stenciled areas and then made a darker version using clear gesso.
The water mixture was paint brushed in the stenciled areas.
The gesso mix was splattered around the layout.

You can see the stenciling, splattering and painting in this photo.

The Whale Watch Blue and gesso mix used for the splatters

is painted on the petal tips of Wild Orchid Crafts white magnolias.

OMG!

A PERFECT match to the 49 and Market "Marina" colored flowers!!

The night before I put my layout together,
I punched out a bunch of hydrangea flower shapes using paper from the same collection.

The green ones are edge inked in Olive Pastel & the pink ones in Malted Mauve.

I placed Want2Scrap black rhinestones in the middle of the large ones.

It was fun to create a few areas on the layout with these shapes.

Some are popped up for dimension using foam dots.

To the printed hydrangeas on this page,
I added some tee-tiny black pearls to coordinate with the punched ones.

49 and Market's laser cuts make a beautiful addition to any layout!!

The leafy branches are edge inked in "Dark Moss" color
and the stamps in deep navy blue "Night Sky".

49 and Market's Wishing Bubbles in "Cream Soda" are so pretty!!

Here is a close up of the die cut title.
I just love the size and font of Tim Holtz's alphanumeric dies!

my baby

I'm ecstatic over the new Denim & Girls paper collection from Maja Design!!

I love how Maja Design offers so many selections with their paper collections.
This collection consists of 24 double sided pages!!! WOW!

I've wanted to create a page with Lucy's precious Feb 2018 photo for a very long time,

but nothing ever struck me as being the perfect paper, until now.

I began by tearing a large piece from the "Summer Outfit" page to go under Lucy's photo.

Then I cut a piece from Blue Fern Studios 12 x 12 Damask Panel chipboard.

I further cut it to resemble tattered lace.

For added interest, I decided to place it at an angle,

which led to Lucy's photo being presented in the same way.

After embossing the chipboard in a beautiful Shabby White color,
it just wasn't the true white I was looking for.

So, I added a top layer of Recollections EP color Snow.

The title "my baby" is because that's what I tell Lucy ALLLLLLL the time!

These Dusty Attic mini alpha letters are inked in a deep navy blue.

Below the photo area is a GOR-JUS cut from a new die I ordered!

What a BEAUTY!

I decorated it with Want2Scrap tiny steel blue pearls

and Wild Orchid Crafts beautiful tiny navy blue open roses!

After adhering Lucy's photo with alternate layers of cardboard for dimension,
I placed it at an angle on top of the chipboard.

Lucy's play ribbon is the inspiration for the colors I chose for the flowers.
