Cards with Stickers Past

During the recovery from Hurricane Bitch Laura,
besides having to clean house,
I also took time to relax & create some simple,
but meaningful 5" x 7" cards.

All are made from solid colored cardstock
and a very old sticker from my stash.

The first card I made is named "Family is Sunshine".
I made it for my BFF and her family.

I used DCWV's pale yellow cardstock from their
"Textured Pastels Stack", for the base of the card.
A Recollections (Michael's) bird family sticker is
very fitting for the "Family is Sunshine" sentiment.
The 'grass' is hand cut with scissors and raised up for dimension.

These birds are just too adorable!

The top of the card is adorned with Blue Fern Studios chipboard "Radiant Suns" that is heat embossed in BFS color "Red Skies".

 And the inside sentiment:

=============================================

This next one I've titled "Birds of a Feather".
The cardstock is in Recollections linen-textured collection
named "Summer Garden".

Adding the very familiar Jolee's Boutique dimensional stickers "Printed Birds"
made this card have a fun and cute vibe!

and the inside sentiment:

==============================================

This card I've named "Daisies are the Sunshine for the Earth".

Little Yellow Bicycle Natural Canvas Colorable Stickers
are so much fun!
All you have to do is color them with Colored Pencils!
Easy-Peasy!

and the inside sentiment:

Thanks for coming by!

And lastly, a pretty card named "Purple Lilies".
Made with purple & baby blue cardstock;
a Little Yellow Bicycle colorable canvas sticker;
and Cheery Lynn Designs Horizon Ovals die.

Bo Bunny - Isabella Easel Card for Carly

I just completed another batch of cards using a very old collection,
that I've always loved, by Bo Bunny, called Isabella (came out in 2013).
Pink & Gray look wonderful together!

It's been a long time since I've made an easel card.
This one is specially made for my friend, Carly.
She & I will understand how each & every sentiment
on this card is very fitting in her life.

I reinforced this easel card on the backside
with very thin cardboard covered in pretty paper from this collection.
I do this when I'm concerned that the paper isn't thick enough
to support the embellishments that I'll be decorating with.

Let's begin with the inside of the card,
when the easel part is flipped over.
As you can see, I've placed paper inside that I can write my personal note.

Now, let's take a closer look at each sentiment that's inside.

This one is extra special for her.

I like to make the top piece, which becomes the easel, smaller in width than the piece it's adhered to, because I think it adds interest to see coordinating paper on the sides.

I chose two very pretty 3D embellishments to adorn the front of the card.
The polka dots are so cute so I only added a few miniature pink roses.

For a little extra pizzazz,
I punched the bottom of the card, adding pink bling and placing cute brads to each side.

Easel cards need a piece to hold the easel in place.
The sentiment was PERFECT, especially if she puts this card on display this way.
Just a 'reminder' of sorts for her.
It's a sticker from this collection that I adhered to a piece of cardboard to pop it up.

Here's closer looks at the pretty 3D layered chipboard pieces on the easel part.

Since I took dozens of photos to get the right ones for this post,
I'll share a few more that were worth keeping.

Thanks for stopping by & viewing Carly's card.
Have a great day!

K&Company - Flora & Fauna Card and Tag Set (bird)

When you've got a paper collection, along with most every embellishment made for it,
it makes it so easy to put together cards & tags.

Here is a set I made in the Brenda Walton Flora & Fauna line.
I chose to use the same paper on both, but decorate them differently.

The Tag is 4-1/2" x 7-1/2".
Designer, Brenda Walton, has some pretty Wood Art pieces that I thought went well.

I love the flowered parentheses!

The card measures 5-1/4" x 6".
I added a dimensional sticker from the collection.

I added a lightly inked flourish chipboard with tiny flowers,
along with one of the typewriter keys in the collection.

To the inside of the card I've added some paper to write a note on.
I used a scalloped corner punch on the paper.
When you open the card, as you can see, I also decorated the top half of it
with the collection's die cuts & vellum.

The backside of the tag is left plain, either to write a note on or add embellishments.

As (most) always,
I didn't over embellish to allow room for adding more if I want to,
depending on the person and occasion.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!
