Pineapple Haven

It was time to color another whimsical & imaginary page!
You can see why I've titled this one "Pineapple Haven".

There are so many colors to choose from in the
Prismacolor Premier set of 150 colored pencils.
For the pineapple, I chose Celadon Green, which takes on a gray-blue tint.  Highlights of Artichoke color are mixed in.

Now for the fun part!
The close ups!
One thing I've learned is that close ups show all of the 'flaws' in coloring.
I usually go back and re-color the spots that 'bother' me.
It's not easy to be 100% perfect when coloring very tiny details no matter how good your vision is.

I'll point out whimsical things in each photo.....

At the top of the artichoke are pollen puffs with eyes
and the cutest "Dough Boy" wearing a Viking hat!

What appears to be a Stingray on the left;
a Bumble Bee; and an Apple.

A purple Cat; a Dragon; a Toucan; and a Rooster.

A middle view atop the pineapple
reveals the Toucan; the Rooster; and a 10-point Buck.

The Dragon's tail where a lizard is climbing to get on it;
and odd flowers holding a lady's ring.

Pretty flowers and a flag.

Another photo with the Buck; a flying Dough Boy; a Snail; and a Butterfly.

Thanks for visiting!
All of my craft supplies are packed and some of them have already been brought to my Louisiana home.
So, all I'm able to do is color....
but I'm enjoying it!

Until next time....have a great week!

The Fennec Fox and Baby Platypus

Another mixed-match pair from Ken Matsuda's imagination!
Although I'm not 100% certain,
with the help of my sister and brother in law,
we've concluded that the fox's companion must be a baby platypus.

These are the internet photos that I colored by:

Here are some more close up photos

Thx for stopping in!
Hope you take up adult coloring!
It is really a WONDERFUL art and oh so relaxing!
Have a great weekend!

Fragile World - European Hamster - Critically Endangered

This precious little animal, the European Hamster,
has now become critically endangered.
They have suffered from climate change, agriculture and light pollution.
They are found across Europe and Asia.
Being prey for animals like the red fox and large birds,
they play a vital role in nature's eco-system.
Sadly, scientists predict that this little rodent will be gone
from Earth within 30 years.

This is the internet photo that I used to color this hamster.

I decided to place the hamster in a very colorful meadow.
A 'happy' meadow.

Kerby Rosanes drew the cutest face for it!

And to top off the cuteness,
Kerby has this precious hamster holding a dandelion!!
OMG!

Thanks for viewing!
Have a great day!

Fragile World - Leaf Lemur Frogs - Critically Endangered

The critically endangered Leaf Lemur Frogs
are found in Columbia, Costa Rica & Panama....
but their population is being depleted from habitat loss
and also deadly fungal disease.
However, special breeding programs are bringing them back strong.

They are very bright green during the day
and at night turn to a reddish-brown.
They are detrimental for the eco system.

Images on the internet helped me to color them correctly.
Chartreuse bodies with peachy-orangey toes and undersides.

This is the internet photo that I used to color these little beauties.

Thanks for viewing my coloring.
We, as humans, the higher beings on this earth,
must do everything we can to save species
like the leaf lemur frog.
Without them, we could die as well.

Naturally...some unusuals in Kerby's drawings!

Have a great day!
