Jody Bergsma Art - Fairy Riding a Hummingbird

 Coloring is so relaxing and also helps with boredom. 

I haven't colored in so long and am trying to re-learn some things.

This wonderful 6" x 7" coloring book was a Christmas gift from my daughter. 

 

Although I'm not totally pleased how this one turned out, 

it sure was relaxing to color again!

I dressed up the plain circle by drawing some star bursts.

I bought Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils awhile back 

and boy do they go on as smooth as butter!!

I LOVE the Faber-Castell Pitt Pastels given to me by my sister. 

I use them for backgrounds because they are 

AWESOME for blending and smoothing. 

Check these 'before' and 'after' photos to show what I'm talking about.

Doesn't the purple at the bottom look horrible at this point?

Look how wonderful blending makes this look!

I use a Q-Tip for larger areas and blending stumps for smaller ones.

Birthday Card 2022 for Vicki

I've been so busy packing and haven't been in a very creative mood lately, however, a couple of weeks ago

I made a simple birthday card for my sister's birthday.

She had been saying how much she loves pink and orange together.  

Indeed these two colors really do look great together.

 

I don't have much in the way of orange colors in my stash, 

so I've done the best I could with what I have.

I used plain light pink cardstock for the card. 

Orange and pink cardstock were die cut for the words 

using Sizzix Thinlits in the Tim Holtz line. 

Butterfly stickers I've had a very long time still make pretty decorations.  

I love these 3-dimensional stickers so much that I I have 3 packs of them (LOL!)

With the Springtime 'theme' I was going for, 

the shaker contains the cutest little Sprinkletz "Garden Party" shaker pieces. 

For added interest, so it wasn't so bare & boring, 

I stenciled some flowers using modeling paste & orange mica powder 

by Lindy's Gang called "Hag's Wart Orange".

This serves as the background for the shaker.

I'm pleased to have made a very cheerful card for my sister,

 even as simple & elementary as it may be.

Birthday Card 2022 for Carmel

My very most BFF loves red tones,

so for her birthday card I chose 

Blue Fern Studios beautiful collection, "The Bird Waltz".

I decorated this 6x6 card with a beautiful bird from the ephemera pieces 

that are part of the collection.  Each ephemera piece is trimmed in white, 

so I fussy cut this bird to eliminate the white edging. 

I just LOVE the new Sizzix Tiny Type Thinlits by Tim Holtz!

They are so perfect for cards!

These have become my 'go to' alpha dies.

I love to have flower arrangements on my cards.

This time, I used an elongated decorative metal bead cap 

as the 'holder' for a bouquet of flowers.  

 

And the inside of the card is just stunning!

Absolutely perfect for a nice personal, written note!
