Pretty as a Rose

I'm very proud to show you my beautiful mother when she was 22.
Such a pretty woman.  She truly was as pretty as a rose!

I converted the old ivory colored photo into a black & white and then colorized a bit.
Turning Mom's eyes into the beautiful dark brown that they were
and making her lips the favorite dark rose lipstick color she favored
really accentuates her beautiful face.

I began by cutting a large cardboard oval; applying scor-tape to each side;
then covering it by wrapping cream colored seam binding around and around;
tying a knot at the top.
I sprayed all of the ribbon with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst color Salt Water Taffy
then spritz-sprayed with colors Alpine Ice Rose and Autumn Maple Crimson.

Because of the title I chose to describe my beautiful Mom, staying with a rose motif seemed perfect.
Gorgeous Blue Fern Studios "Hushed" page in the Tranquility Collection and
beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts 2-tone roses & rosebuds were perfect.
The 2-tone rosebuds were inked on the petal tips with "Pink Sky" ink color to match with the open wild roses.
Crunching up the ribbon & making a 'floppy bow' with long dangling strands provided a nice flow with the frame.

I can't say it enough times how much I LOVE these leaf die cuts!
They are scored in the center for easy folding to create a more realistic look.

The title was made from Dusty Attic script, lower & upper ABC's.
I acrylic painted all of them in a warm white mixed with a hint of pink.

Most of the letters were treated with Flamingo colored Liquid Pearls on the bottom half.

The Liquid Pearls Flamingo color was completely applied to the word ROSE
and then topped with Cotton Candy colored Stickles.

I definitely plan to frame this layout of my gorgeous Mom and hang it in a special place!

Thanks for visiting and hope you have a great week!  Lisa : )

Lucy's Many Colors

It's been constant rain here in southwest Louisiana for 3 days...time to scrap!

I'm very proud to show off Lucy's colors with a photo taken just yesterday, Dec 4th. Isn't she just gorgeous?!  WOW!  Her back is taupe color, but her front legs and chest display quite impressive colors.
White, extremely dark chocolate, dark brown, creamy brown, buff.  Oh what an outstanding beauty she is!

Beautiful Blue Fern Studios Mémoires paper collection makes Lucy's colors really stand out!
First I applied a flourish stencil using white crackle texture paste
and then centered Lucy's gorgeous photo on the page.
The photo is adhered to cardboard for dimension and framed by two pretty metal filigree corners.
The title coordinates with the color scheme.

Another style of pretty filigree corners frame the entire layout.

Pretty lace adds a feminine touch.

And of course, a gorgeous girl needs pretty flowers & butterflies >^..^<

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!  Lisa : )

Regal Beauty

I made a layout of my gorgeous Miss Gali with the stunning Blue Fern Studios Mémoires paper collection.
I chose this particular page because of it's regal feel & design.
I'm always so thrilled whenever I'm able to get a good photo of the ever-gorgeous Miss Gali!
She had just finished a good lick on her mane. As you can see some of the hair is still straight up (hee hee).
Because of her shy nature, it's hard to get her to open her eyes all the way....
I like to think it's because she's giving me 'love eyes'.  >^--^<
I really lucked out on this one!
Beautiful print on gorgeous paper deserves to be part of the design so I kept embellishments to a minimum.
The stunning centerpiece chipboard by BFS was perfect to showcase my raving beauty.
The center of it reminds me of a crown, so after a light gesso-prep it was heat embossed with Tim Holtz Distress embossing powder color Vintage Photo, then gold glitter glue was applied to just the center loops; then gold nailheads adhered to the partial circle above & below the photo.
Ah yes - regal indeed!

Aren't the chipboard letters just fabulous that I used to spell 'REGAL' ?!
These are from Want2Scrap and are sold on alpha chipboard sheets.
I gesso-prepped them and then heat embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang color Hollyberry Red Gold;
followed by sprinkles of BFS Imagine Ink color Antique Gold
Teal roses added contrast and beauty.

To the left of the photo is Prima's Cloisonné Bronze flower
accented with beautiful metallic gold die cut flourishes.
For balance, the title word "beauty" was placed on the right side of the photo.
These Dusty Attic script letters make such wonderful titles!
They were gesso-prepped and then double heat embossed with BFS's gorgeous Antique Gold,
followed by a heavy application of Crackle Accents.
In the flower arrangements are pretty gold berry bead clusters from Wild Orchid Crafts.
They are actually antique gold color, but I sprayed them with Krylon Metallic Gold
Now they really shine!
The entire layout is framed with gold beaded trim along the edge.....fit for a Queen!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!  Lisa : )
