Birthday Card 2022 for Michelle

I made a birthday card for one of my very dearest friends, Michelle.
Michelle's favorite color is teal
and this gorgeous paper collection is just perfect for her!

Using the Tim Holtz Tiny Type dies,
I spelled "Happy Birthday!!"

I just bought these little bitty dies and I absolutely LOVE them!
You get several of each letter in both the upper and the lower sets.

That way, when you cut out words or quotes or sayings,
you more than likely will have enough dies to be able to do a one-and-done cut!

As with all 49 and Market collections,
this one did not disappoint!
The beautiful scene on this page fit perfectly as a 6x6 size card.
Because of it's gorgeousness, it just didn't make any sense to cover it up
with a bunch of embellishments, so I kept it simple.

The rub-ons go on so smoothly.
They are such a perfect color match with the collection.
I really love the cute and very realistic looking seed bead ones!
The skeleton butterfly is also a rub-on.
So layering one rub-on on top of another works great!

Other rub-ons I used are the words 'awesome & you' -

and a flowering plant -
Spectacular!

Isn't this sparkly butterfly bauble so pretty?

Here are a couple of simple flower arrangements I made for the bottom corners of the card and used one of the collection's dimensional baubles that says "Loved"
....because Michelle IS loved!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great week & please stay safe and healthy.

Pretty Blue Eyes

I took a photo of this beauty in June 2019.
It's been on my scrap desk for many, many months
because I just could never find the right paper until now.

I've never seen a lizard with such pretty blue eyes!

With the ongoing concerns of the coronavirus pandemic,
I'm purposefully in isolation as much as possible.
This COVID-19 has been very disheartening & really
brings down my emotions and mood,
so I wanted to scrap a cheerful page.

Rummaging through much older stash I found the perfect
Kaisercraft page in the Sweet Nothings collections.
The peachy-rose tones of the Christmas Cactus, along with those beautiful blue eyes made this page named "Silver Lining" a fabulous match!

First I placed the photo on cardboard to pop it up.
From there, I pulled older flower stash, as well as Wycinanka chipboard.

I had fun with a Michael's bargain bin large blue flower to take up space,
adding smaller flowers alongside in different colors.
I even had fun with a Rub-On from this Kaisercraft collection.
It's been "forever" since I've used one.
I need to do that more often!
The rub-on is the yellow flower in the corner.

The opposite corner of the page has pretty printed flowers
with an overlay of tiny blue dots.
I randomly placed small flower arrangements
to incorporate them in with the printed ones.
I tried a very old rub-on that wouldn't rub off,
so I cut it out and glued it instead.

Years ago, I bought some Wycinanka chipboard.
I chose the right size corner frame pieces
and dabbed the edges with "Blue Lagoon" ink by ColorBox.
I can't help it!  LOOK at those EYES!  She's sooooooo pretty!

So, it really is good to hold on to your stash
because you never know when the right photo will come along for it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great, safe and healthy week!

Blue Fern Studios - Bird Waltz Birthday Cards

Two friends' birthdays came up and I wasn't prepared.
February crept up so fast!
I'm trying to get on track with everyone's birthdays.
With the time constraint,
it was much easier to create the cards virtually identical.

I made them each a 6" x 6" card using
Blue Fern Studios Bird Waltz collection.

Not much embellishing is even needed because the
Bird Waltz paper collection is truly stunning!

For the inside, another page in the collection
called "Dragonfly Opus" was used.
I simply punched the corners & then adhered it.
It gave me a nice space to write birthday wishes.

Here is Diana's Birthday Card:

Thanks for coming by!
Have a great day,
Lisa
