Pets Memorial - Greta

I can't believe it's been 3 weeks ago
since I decorated one of my beloved pets' frames
for the Pets Memorial wall hanging!

This is Greta.
She was my daughter's dog,
but me & Greta were very close.
Her gorgeous photo was taken in July 2010 in my backyard.

Greta's photo is in a 4 x 6 frame that I've spray painted in "Satin Silver Lilac".
Her name plate is made with air dry clay using Prima's IOD Mould "Labels 1".
It's heat embossed with Fran-táge color "Aged Ivory".
The Dusty Attic letters are inked with ColorBox Pigment Ink "Raisin".

I chose this beautiful chipboard piece by Blue Fern Studios
because I know that Greta & all beloved pets
are happy & healthy in Heaven.

The words are inked in "Raisin" color & the butterfly
is heat embossed with Fran-táge color "Shabby Blue".
Added wire antennae & chipboard dots enhanced the butterfly.

This beautiful piece measures 5" wide x 6" long.

Keeping in mind the size of the chipboard,
I was very concerned that eventually the letters or entire words might detach.
Each letter is delicately attached to the next one.
To remedy this concern, I tore a piece of gorgeous paper
 from Blue Fern Studio's collection "Eclectic Charm";
then adhered a solid piece of chipboard behind it.
This provided a sturdy background.

I decided for Greta that the colors of purple (of course), yellow & light blue would be very becoming for her.

Here are close up photos of the flower arrangements made around the frame.

This is the updated Pets Memorial wall hanging
with Greta now decorated & hung in place.

Here is Greta's story.....

In 2007, my daughter desired to have a dog.
Not just ANY dog.
An original straight-back German Shepherd!

Greta was the runt of the litter & the very quiet one.
PERFECT in every way!

Greta became the BEST dog ever!
Kind, gentle, friendly, loving, smart & patient.
She LOVED going to Pet Smart and patiently sat to let
little children pet her and tap on her muzzle.
If she heard the Pet Smart commercial on TV she'd cock her head
and then start running around the livingroom in excitement - LOL!
Greta's very best friend was Marcy, the little Calico cat.

She LOVED riding in the car; going for walks and playing ball in the backyard.
I always called her "The Greta".

Unfortunately, she died at the very young age of 5 due to Cirrhosis.
She's forever in our memory and in our hearts.
We sure miss her.

Thanks for viewing Greta!
