My mother was 20 years old in 1950.......such a gorgeous woman. This is one of my most favorite photos of her. I am so very lucky to have the original that she signed to my father and kissed it on the backside!
So her lipstick kiss remains!!! How cool is that?!
This is the second time I've scrapped this lovely photo. The first one was the very first public posting I had ever made of one of my layouts. The gorgeous Serendipity collection by Blue Fern Studios was absolutely perfect to re-scrap this stunning photo of Mom.
The recent Blue Fern Studios collections designed by Michele Singh just totally blow me away! WOW! They are absolutely exquisite! I have so far refrained from covering up the magnificent print on these papers. Instead, I use them as part of my design and inspiration.
I decided to create layers and the layout title by using the pages
Calling Cards and the backside of Glee in this gorgeous paper collection.
Some of the papers, including the photo were raised up with foam tape or cardboard for added dimension.
Not only does BFS have gorgeous papers, but they also have stunning embossing powders!
I added just a touch of stenciled elegance.
Check out this fantastic Imagine Ink color '14 Karat' ! sigh.....
The Dusty Attic Wire Dress Form was the perfect chippie to use to add to the feminine feel of this layout.
I evened out the color of it with Antique Linen Distress Ink;
then added the same color Stickles and a metal vintage rose for added sparkle.
The flowers that match so perfectly with this paper are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I placed my mother's "J" initial lapel/hat pin in one of the arrangements.
Thank you for visiting! I appreciate it very much! Have a wonderful week! Lisa : )

Gorgeous layout and photo of your mother! I bought some of that Serendipity collection too, love what you did with it! I also ordered a bunch of those hip rosebuds from Wild Orchid crafts before I even saw your layout, lol. But sshhhh, husband is to be kept in the dark about that purchase ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous layout, Lisa! Your work is beautiful and that photo of your mom is a true treasure. I can't wait to get my hands on some of that paper. Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog! It led me here, and I am your newest follower!
