Our First Day with Greta

Happy Good Friday everyone!  I just finished a layout with a photo of Greta taken April 2007 on the very first day she came home with us.  She wasn't quite 2 months old yet, but doesn't she look so majestic?

When it came on the market, I bought the Maja Design Enjoying Outdoors collection because purple is my most favorite color.  This is the first time I've used it...go figure
I settled on a simple design using various papers from the collection that coordinated with each other. A little bit of stenciling was applied.  The Dusty Attic gorgeous Sweet Pea Border that I cut into three pieces was painted in Vanilla colored acrylic paint.

Rather than try to match the gorgeous tones of purple and fuchsia colors, I opted instead to create handmade flowers and tags with some of the papers in this collection. The only flowers that are not handmade are some really cool flower beads I've had 'forever' that are absolutely adorable and a perfect color match!!
I tucked them here and there with the two large flowers.

I created all of the flowers using the Tattered Florals dies by Tim Holtz.

I added some pastel yellow seed beads to the center of the flower shown below.  It looked nice inside The Dusty Attic String of Hearts chippie!  I simply inked the string part of the chipboard design and then using the Maja Design papers, I cut out the hearts and glued them on top of each heart shape already on the chipboard.

I hand cut a couple of tags, adding twine & a cute button from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope your Easter Holidays are wonderful!  Lisa : )

  1. Gorgeous, Lisa! Beautiful design! Love the flowers you made! Now I'm thinking I have to get out my "Enjoying Outdoors" papers and use my flower dies more, lol!
