This is my first entry…..with another coming a little later this
month. : )
Here is Lindy’s October 2014 Color Challenge link and color inspiration:
I chose the beautiful, breathtaking LSG Starburst challenge colors
Bodacious Blush & Black Orchid Silver for this layout because they
coordinated so well with my design thought, as well as the colors of the new
& beautiful Bo Bunny 'Madeleine' collection page named “Symmetry”. This collection will definitely WOW you if
you like dainty, vintage!
I also used color challenge LSG embossing powder Midnight Pewter Obsidian
for letters in the title. I rubbed "OldSilver" color wax on the letters for accent.
I chose the title “Sweet Tuxedo” because the cat in the photo is a
tuxedo breed. This breed is black and
white with markings that appear as though they are wearing a tuxedo. The beautiful young lady is my
favorite early 1900’s New York super model, Evelyn Nesbit Thaw. I have scrapped her many times and plan to
continue, as long as I find these gorgeous photos of her. I am completely intrigued with her.
This beautiful Bo Bunny paper design has hydrangea flowers all over the
page. I was inspired to use my
hydrangea punch on some sparkly black paper, giving dimension to the clusters
by raising some of the flowers with foam adhesives. I also had an inkling to trace some of the hydrangeas
printed on the paper with a black fine point Sharpie pen and place a tiny black
pearl in each center. I didn’t worry
about being ‘neat’ and just “went to town” quickly tracing. They really stand out, don’t they?!
I sprayed a few areas of this LO with the gorgeous Lindy's Bodacious Blush Starburst!

From these beginnings, I chose Martha Stewart’s “Lace Flowers” punch for
framing the photo and then decorating each flower in the punched design with clear
bling, as well as rubbing on some “OldSilver” bees wax.
I chose to use black ribbon-bling on a roll as an accent because the
black choker necklace Evelyn is wearing inspired this look. Bet her necklace was velvet!
I experimented with the “Oldsilver” color wax on the photo itself! Pretty cool if you ask me! I love the look!
I stenciled some of the page with the stunning new Prima “Decor1”
stencil. I mixed gray acrylic paint with
my modeling paste until the color tone was to my liking. To each stencil, I decorated the flower stamen
with baby pink colored bling and added a couple of other embellishments as well.
Every gorgeous flower used on this layout is from Wild Orchid Crafts in
England (UK). These sturdy mulberry
flowers hold up so well and beautify any project! Give them a try – you won’t regret it!
I sprayed the large rose & two rosebuds with LSG Starburst BodaciousBlush! So beautiful! The mini tassel was also recolored using LSG
Starburst Black Orchid Silver. The mini
roses were sprayed with the same and then rubbed with ‘Oldsilver’ beeswax. WOWZA!
Placing some of the roses inside a tussie-mussie type metal cone really
adds to the vintage look!
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Hope you enjoyed my layout. It
was a pure joy making it! Have a
beautiful day, Lisa : )
