Pretty Blue Eyes

I took a photo of this beauty in June 2019.
It's been on my scrap desk for many, many months
because I just could never find the right paper until now.

I've never seen a lizard with such pretty blue eyes!

With the ongoing concerns of the coronavirus pandemic,
I'm purposefully in isolation as much as possible.
This COVID-19 has been very disheartening & really
brings down my emotions and mood,
so I wanted to scrap a cheerful page.

Rummaging through much older stash I found the perfect
Kaisercraft page in the Sweet Nothings collections.
The peachy-rose tones of the Christmas Cactus, along with those beautiful blue eyes made this page named "Silver Lining" a fabulous match!

First I placed the photo on cardboard to pop it up.
From there, I pulled older flower stash, as well as Wycinanka chipboard.

I had fun with a Michael's bargain bin large blue flower to take up space,
adding smaller flowers alongside in different colors.
I even had fun with a Rub-On from this Kaisercraft collection.
It's been "forever" since I've used one.
I need to do that more often!
The rub-on is the yellow flower in the corner.

The opposite corner of the page has pretty printed flowers
with an overlay of tiny blue dots.
I randomly placed small flower arrangements
to incorporate them in with the printed ones.
I tried a very old rub-on that wouldn't rub off,
so I cut it out and glued it instead.

Years ago, I bought some Wycinanka chipboard.
I chose the right size corner frame pieces
and dabbed the edges with "Blue Lagoon" ink by ColorBox.
I can't help it!  LOOK at those EYES!  She's sooooooo pretty!

So, it really is good to hold on to your stash
because you never know when the right photo will come along for it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great, safe and healthy week!

Easter's on its way - Revised

Well I just couldn't stand it - what was I thinking?!

I'm giving this Easter layout to a precious little girl and what do all little girls love?
BLING of course!
So, I made some changes to make this layout a bit more interesting.
The original can be viewed here.

Here are the changes I've made ~

Starting with the left bottom corner,
I added bling to the eggs and sweet clear hearts to show that the bunnies are in love.

Now the right bottom corner.
A couple of the printed flower centers got a touch of bling.
Stickles added shine to the girl's hair and to several of the eggs at the rabbit's booth.
Also, I paint brushed Patina Stickles in the grass area, including on top of the pale green Flower Soft.
I continued with the Patina Stickles painting along the bottom edge of the layout up to the grassy area that the love bunnies are nestling in (you can see this in the photo above).

One of the most dramatic changes I made was to the punched canopy.
What a difference beautiful bling can make!

Here are a few photos of the hanging eggs that I added bling to.
Also, baby pink rhinestones were randomly added to the layout.

WHEW!
Now I'm ready to give this Easter gift!

Thanks again for stopping by!
Happy Easter everyone!

Easter's on its way

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!

Easter is fast approaching and the Easter Bunny is very busy getting ready with gathering all of those wonderful candies, eggs & toys for all little girls and boys.

I recently purchased the ultra-cute and gorgeous Blue Fern Studios Spring Parade collection!

I really loved the page Market Place and decided to just mimic the fabulously cute print on the page....

I made decorative eggs by cutting out the images from the May Vignettes page using my husband's drafting Ellipses stencil that he gave me for my scrapping : ).
I used several things from my stash that seem to always be forgotten - ribbons, pearls & Flower Soft.

I fussy cut images, inked the edges and adhered the pieces with foam tape to give dimension.

This piece is decorated with Flower Soft color Meadow and also the sweet Blue Fern Studios chipboard from the Layering Stem set.  I heat embossed this with their new and GORGEOUS Imagine Ink color Lavender Eggs for the flowering part and Grassy Knoll for the stems.

Adding Stickles Frosted Lace to the white bunny gave addition shine.
Two cut out eggs were placed beside these precious bunnies.

I couldn't resist fussy cutting this cute little girl carrying her sweet kitty in her straw hat.
I made sure to place her at the egg booth so she could buy some beautiful decorated eggs from the rabbit.
I added a few Wild Orchid Crafts mini Sweetheart Blossom flowers and some Lavender & Pale Green colored Flower Soft.
I began by adding a 'canopy' to the top of the page by punching a strip from the page May Vignettes
I adhered it with foam tape for extra dimension.

"Hanging eggs" were added

Here are close ups of each pretty egg:

The largest 'egg' is framed in Wycinanka Blueberry Swirls Frame.
I first acrylic painted it with a mixture of Light Buttermilk & a touch of Butter Cream colors.
I cut out the sweet little bunny with the pink neck bow and adhered it to the back of this frame.
Then I added Want2Scrap baby purple pearls to some of the berries on the frame.

Now all I need is a little girl to give this Easter layout to!
I have the perfect one in mind and hope to have it framed & ready at Easter for her!

Thanks so much for dropping by to view my Easter layout!
Hope you can stop by again sometime, because with me you never know what you will see : ).
Have a wonderful week and an even better Easter Holiday!
