In Tuxedo

After receiving my fabulous birthday happy mail from my sweet friend, Carrie Williams
I had promised that ***There will be more about these goodies in a future post*** : ).
She made me some beautiful flowers in my two most favorite colors - purple & blue!!

I knew that I had to make something with dramatic flair because that's how the flowers make me feel!
I had just received a photo from Ralph's brothers that he still had in a frame tucked away.
I sure miss my dear friend Ralph.

I had totally forgotten about this particular Glamour Shots photo of me!
I was ecstatic that the background is a perfect match with the blue flowers!!
I guess it was just meant to be!
I found elegant, but dramatic black and white glittered paper in my stash to use.

I prepped the center of the paper with clear gesso and after it was dry I applied watered down
Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst color Tea Pot Purple to produce a subtle color.

I punched one side of some beautiful shimmery jet black paper and applied lavender rhinestones.
The Dusty Attic chipboard piece from the Wrought Iron Trim Set was painted with a mixture
of clear gesso & LSG mica powder color Tweedle Dee Denim from the Mad Hatter Magicals Set.
Drips of LSG Tea Pot purple were added and the very best part is that it has a blue shimmer - WOW!

To the center of this beautiful chipboard, I placed a plum toned Fleur di Lis.
Using jet black archival ink and a craft nib, I colored the beaded edging to bring it out.
You can see the Tea Pot Purple color on the chipboard in this photo!

I added pitch black glass glitter to the bodies of the lovely Petaloo dark blue velvet butterflies.

I did my best to do justice to these gorgeous flowers!!  My biggest hope is that Carrie likes how I've used them!
I layered the leaf die cuts using lavender cardstock (a beautiful match with the flowers)
and the same shimmery jet black paper that is under the photo.

To the purple flowers I spritzed Lindy's Glitz Spritz Scintillating Silver for some shine.
Snippets of black lace that I tattered the edges gave that little bit of needed shabby chicness.

~Enjoy viewing Carrie's fabulous flowers ~

I LOVE how this flower isn't fully opened!
Goodness the lavender and blue look fabulous together!

I just LOVE this little beauty!

The silver shimmer shines in the light!
