I had the pleasure of making a birthday card for a very sweet lady who turns 70 this month!
Her craft is making cards and she always displays them
with one of her cute & whimsical decorative birds!
Determined to make a card with a cute little bird, this is what I came up with.

Determined to make a card with a cute little bird, this is what I came up with.
I really wanted to make a cheerful card with lots of pretty colors so I found the
perfect collection in my stash by Kaisercraft called "Botanical Odyssey".
I printed a bird outline on pretty pink paper from the 6x6 paper pad
and also made the wings using the polka dot paper.
I first glued down select die-cuts from the collection
and then placed the bird with foam tape.
A cute sentiment was placed on top of one of the die-cuts.
I found out that she's moving to a new place at the end of the month.
How fitting this sentiment turned out to be!

I wanted to surprise this sweet lady with a cute quote I found on the internet.
So I came up with a clever way of concealing it by using a brad on the outer wing.
You can see a leafy branch die-cut under the bird. |
Look! The cute little bird is starting to fly!
And here is the concealed message for this wonderful lady........
A personal birthday sentiment is also printed inside the card.
I placed a sticker from the paper collection as a decorative seal for the envelope.
I had such a blast putting this together and I know she will love it!
She's just that kind of sweet person!
