Kitten Face

I've mentioned numerous times how hard it is to capture Miss Gali's adorable kitten-like face in a photograph.  August 27th I got lucky and caught a candid shot of her sitting on her pink towel atop the extra refrigerator in our computer/scrap room, so I'm looking up at her.  I had to lightened the photo because her face mask is so dark chocolate that you can't even see her nose!

To be honest, I almost named this layout "I'm Annoyed" because Gali really was annoyed.  Guess why?  Yes, that's exactly correct....Lucy "the Bad" had jumped up with her and was desperately & very annoyingly trying to get her MaMa's attention, but to no avail.  LOL!!  Gali's face really looks like she's saying 'Please get her out of my space before I scream!'  LOL!  They are best friends, so no worries!  hee hee

I've entered my creation in the beautiful Dusty Attic September 2016 Mood Board Challenge!
It really captured me with it's gorgeous blues, creams and browns.
I LOVE blue and brown together...well that's obvious because Miss Gali & Lucy are beautiful colors of cream, chocolate brown and buff colors and then their phenomenally gorgeous blue eyes - WOW!

Flowers and lace just had to be part of this layout, especially since Miss Gali is so shy & dainty :).
The process I used to color the beautiful Dusty Attic Corner Flourish #3 chipboard was to first gesso-prep; then added two coats of Vanilla colored acrylic paint; followed by touches of ColorBox inks Chestnut Roan and Colonial Blue.  I wanted more blue, so I painted random areas with Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabio color Tweedle Dee Denim. I really love it because it's the perfect blue!  Tsukineko Versa Magic Chalk ink in Night Sky color (darkest possible navy blue ever) was touched on the edges to help highlight the blue areas a little better.

Beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts roses and snippets of lace,
lightly sprayed with LSG Flat Fabio Tweedle Dee Denim,
add the perfect feminine touch.

A mixture of Vintage Blue & Copper glass glitter was glued to random areas for sparkle and interest.

I love The Dusty Attic Lace Border #1 with its heart design & Indian flair.  So, my design intention is to resemble the Dream Catcher in the mood board!  I gesso-prepped the piece; acrylic painted Vanilla color & then let drops from the sprayer of Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst color Whale Watch Blue soak in...takes a little while to soak in because of the acrylic paint, but I love the subtle coloring very much!  The previously mentioned glass glitter mixture was added to the solid heart centers.  In the 'weaved area' I added tiny baby blue rhinestones and chocolate pearls.  A dark espresso rhinestone was added to each dangling 'feather' piece.  Then beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts roses and rosebuds in navy & light blue finished up the piece.

You can really see the Whale Watch Blue coloring in this photo ~

Last, but definitely not least, The Dusty Attic Flutterbies #3 are on my "Perpetual Reorder List"!  They are so detailed and I can't get enough of them!  I gesso-prepped them, inked the inside wing areas with ColorBox Colonial Blue and the outside wing areas with Versa Magic Night Sky. I also barely touched the bodies with Colonial Blue for just a hint of blue color.  The wings were then outlined using Stickles color Frosted Lace.

I always appreciate your visits and hope that you can come back again to see what I've created.
Have a great day!  Lisa : )

  3. So beautiful, Lisa! The close-ups are amazing! I just love love love the chipboard artwork you did. You are the master of details! I always love checking out your work, especially now that I know a little more about you and your life. I can see this is definitely an outlet of more than just creativity.

Snuggle your babies for me! I'm still missing mine like crazy (he always "helped" me work on my pages--in the way that cats do: by laying directly in front of me on the table!) I've gotten a lot more done, but it's not nearly as fun. And have a wonderful week! My baby turns one tomorrow!! I'll have a blog post up in the morning in his honor! :)

    Your biggest fan!
