Card from my BFF ~ homemade window holder

I received the most wonderful surprise in the mail recently that made me smile and cry at the same time!  My awesome angel of a best friend sent me a very special card that I will treasure the rest of my life!  O-M-G!  God sure hooked me up with the perfect one!!!

Here is the front and inside sentiments.
And look at these adorable kitties!!! How Perfect is that?!?!  OMG!  >^..^<

Keep in mind, as we all know, that none other than "Lucy the Bad" loves to get into any and everything; especially if it's something new.  I have had flowers, ribbons and ponytail holders (among other things) 'stolen' from under my nose!  LOL!  I wanted to really SEE this card every single day, without fear of it being damaged in some way by tiny kitty teeth! hee hee   So, after some thought, I came up with the perfect solution....why not make a card holder with a see-through plastic window?!?!  And then hang it on the side of the refrigerator right by my scrapping area so it's out of Lucy's reach and right in my line of sight!  Yay!!!!   Soooooo....this is what I came up with......

I happened to have the perfect paper collection with teal, red, orange & peach colors in it!  The papers are in the DCWV's "The Coral Couture" collection.

Careful trial and error, but finally resulted in the cutting and scoring of a manila folder that when folded up to be a card holder ended up being 6.25" wide x 7" long.  I glued a piece of clear plastic (the stuff you use for shaker cards) for the viewing window sized at 4.75" x 6.5".  The card itself measures 4.5" x 6.75".  A perfect fit!  Then I adhered the paper, decorating both the outside and the inside of this cute card holder.

Adding some lace trim and resin daisies around the window area was plenty since the paper has such an adorable floral design!

Now how cute is that?!

Special heartfelt thanks to my BFF Carmel who I love to the moon and back!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day too!  Lisa : )
