One eyed Pirate - arrr!

Today we had lots of thunderstorms and lightning here in southwest Louisiana....
and it was the perfect day
to scrap the ultimate fun fun fun layout of none other than the fabulous Lucy!

To help you understand the title, one of Lucy's nicknames really is "One eyed Pirate" - LOL!  It all started when she was not even a year old and we were playing.  She wrapped her legs around my foot and with one eye closed playfully bit it - LOL!!!  Ever since, she will sometimes close one eye when playing and she becomes the "One eyed Pirate" - HA!

This photo was taken on 5-19-16 as she was making a futile attempt to 'hide' behind the shower curtain to jump out and "scare" me!  LOL!  I was snapping quickly so not realizing all the photos I was capturing until I downloaded them and I almost screamed with total excitement!!  Isn't Lucy hilarious?!?!?!?  LOL!

I ordered this custom cut chipboard quote from Want2Scrap quite a long time ago in hopes that I could catch Lucy being the "One eyed Pirate"......so that day finally came!  I fretted for a number of days trying to put together a layout of this photo on very dainty paper, but I just wasn't feeling it.  Then I remembered that I had some beach scenes in my stash!  Doesn't this Paper House paper remind you of a deserted island that perhaps pirates would have gone to?  I decided to make the title quote look like leather so I colored it with Chestnut ink and then let the crackle do its magic!

My good friend, Lorna, let me use some seashells from her stash, which are so perfect for this layout!
They are precious and can be found at your local arts and crafts store.

I wanted to make this layout very colorful and "Hawaiian" so I was exceptionally happy to be able to finally use my Wild Orchid Crafts Summer Tone Lilies!  They are GORGEOUS!
I also had Bohemian style and other fitting bright flowers.
The Wild Orchid Crafts green ferns gave a perfect tropical feel!

Besides a little bit of burlap spritzed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mist Buccaneer Bay Blue and then tying some "pirate" knots seemed the right thing to do.

One more thing, in "pirate lingo" the saying "arrr!" is to be happy or to be positive.  I had to include these Dusty Attic lower letters embossed in Lindy's Stamp Gang color Hi Maintenance Magenta

What a complete BLAST I had creating this layout!  WOW!  Fun Fun Fun!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!  Lisa : )

  1. Oh, Lisa, I recognize that look in Lucy's eyes! Chewey, although 18 years old now, loves to hide and jump out and scare us. He will get behind something - and his little butt will be up in the air and wiggling waiting to jump!

Your page is so beautiful and tropical - and Lucy is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your wonderful art.
