6-26-25 Mandala

Today's mandala was inspired by the Color Cube Card 005.
I love these colors, although they are quite dark.

Using the Color Cube Card 005 for inspiration,
I chose these Prismacolor Premier colored pencils:

Such pretty colors together.

Thanks for visiting!

Friendship Cards.....Because Friends Deserve Recognition

I think often about the friends I have.
I'm really so very thankful for each one of them.
They brighten my life, each in their own way.
I love the diversity I have among my friends.
Each is unique; each brings interesting things to a conversation;
and each makes me smile and laugh inside & out.

I decided that it was time to send my friends a friendship card.
Unfortunately, I don't have the addresses of all of my friends;
some in America, Canada, Australia & New Zealand,
but they, too, are held in high esteem in my mind!

Here they are - plain; before I decorated them.

I went with black & white as the main colors.
I hand drew a dandelion fluff ball; then printed it on thick white cardstock.
I layered white on black on white.

I was inspired by a video I watched online,
which I believe may have been from Scrapbook.com.
They used a dandelion stencil and traced it.
I thought it was a really simple, but neat idea!

Each friend's card is different because I've placed a variety of
flat back pearls, rhinestones & enamel dots
on the dandelion fluff balls & at the bottom of the card
 in their favorite color(s)!

Here are the different colors I used.
I made a total of 10 cards, so the photos are in two's.

On the inside, each one has the definition of friendship printed on white cardstock; adhered to jet black cardstock and then glued to the card.
My very special BFF, Carmel, has the definition of best friend on her card.

Below the definition, in the blank space,
I hand wrote a special note to the person the card was made for.
Each card is unique for each unique friend!

Very quick, easy and CAS (Clean & Simple) cards!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed day.

Miss Belle's 2025 Birthday Card

I hand drew some orchids for my lovely friend & 2nd Mom, Miss Belle.
She used to grow orchids, but she couldn't keep them up because of her health.
She lives in Florida and her orchids grew outside.
They were truly stunning & magnificent!

Although my drawing abilities are a bit 'elementary',
I just decided that this year's cards for my friends would be their
favorite flower in their favorite color.
I don't know Miss Belle's favorite color, but pink reminds me of her.

I colored them with the following colored pencils:
>Prismacolor PC 1014 Deco Pink (flowers)
>Prismacolor PC 930 Magenta (flower accents & veining)
>Faber-Castell Polychromos 108 Dk Cadmium Yellow (stamen)
>Faber-Castell Polychromos 107 Permanent Green Olive (dark long leaves)
>Faber-Castell Polychromos 170 May Green (stems)
>Prismacolor PC1012 Jasmine (buds)
>Prsimacolor PC1005 Limepeel (buds)

The background is Faber-Castell Mini Pastels in a light blue & pretty pink,
applied with a makeup sponge wedge.

Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed day!

Card in a Crunch! - for Fr. Paul

My priest will be celebrating his 8th Ordination Anniversary.
I realized that it's next week & the best time to give him a card would be after Mass on Saturday (tomorrow!).

We've had thunderstorms all day and I didn't get out.
So, I sat down and made a quick card for him.
It turned out a bit cheesy with the silver sequin balloons on it,
but he'll get a kick out of that!

I simply took a thick piece of white cardstock and cut it to 5" x 7" size & scored it.
First, I brushed some lavender color on the background
using a makeup sponge wedge.
I cut out the letters with some alpha dies and glued them to the card.
Lastly, I glued on some silver sequin balloons!

I wrote Father Paul a special note inside congratulating him.
He's special to so many and for me,
he truly changed my life and I'll be forever grateful.

Thanks for stopping by to see this ultra-simple CAS card.
Have a blessed weekend,
Lisa
