Fragile World - Queen Alexandra's Birdwing Butterflies - Endangered

 WOW!!!
So many interesting animals & insects in the Fragile World coloring book!
This is my coloring of the Queen Alexandra Birdwing Butterfly.
OMG!
This is the world's largest butterfly, reaching a wingspan up to 11"!!!!!
It's found exclusively in Papua New Guinea.
They are currently on the Endangered List due to habitat loss,
as well as illegal trading.
What a PRIZE for our Earth!

This is the internet photo that I used to color this beauty!

Shading in a darker coordinating color makes things 'come alive"!

I mimicked some hibiscus I had once that were a pretty
salmon with a cherry colored middle.

These beauties come in an array of colors,
but this one with the gorgeous blue and chartreuse colors was my favorite!

Thx so much for dropping by!
Have a great week!
Lisa

Fragile World - Philippine Naked-Backed Fruit Bat - Critically Endangered

My coloring is from the Fragile World coloing book illustrated by Kerby Rosanes.
The critically endangered Philippine Naked-Backed Fruit Bats
are only found on the islands of Cebu and Negros.
They were believed to be extinct,
but by the early 2000's small populations were found.
They roost in caves, where humans are mining their feces, known as guano,
for use as fertilizer.
Reproduction is disturbed due to human interference in their habitat.
Such a sad story!

This is the internet photo that I used to color this page.

I chose to color the fruit in my favorite purple tones.
I'm sure that the fruit these bats eat are more on the red side,
but that's the joy of coloring!
Do what makes you feel good.

Thanks so much for visiting!
Have a wonderful & blessed weekend,
Lisa >^..^<

There is Always a Reason to Dance

A sweet coloring today from the artwork of Jody Bergsma.
This delightful coloring book was a 2021 Christmas gift from my daughter.
The pages are small (6" x 7") with tiny details.
The title is actually given by the artist.
I loved this scene!

Thanks for coming by and have a great weekend!

Nesting Dolls Cities

I've colored another 2-page spread from the
Worlds Within Worlds coloring book by artist Kerby Rosanes.

Usually, more often than not, you see nesting dolls that are identical
with the same colors and patterns.
These do not have the same patterns and therefore,
I felt they each needed to have their own color combinations.

However, what IS alike on all of them is the face, the head scarf,
the mittens and the bottom base.
I chose to color these areas exactly the same for each doll.

Page 1 (Dolls #1 & #2)

Page 2 (Dolls #3, #4 & #5)

Doll #1:

You will see that I've colored each city
in the same colors as the doll that houses them.
