Sybil

To start this new year, I'm sharing a memorial tribute page of our sweet Sybil.
This is the very first time that I've scrapped her.

A month and a half after Sophie died, I adopted Sybil in Aug. 2007 from a shelter where she had lived for 3 months because the owner couldn't take care of her anymore. We gave her lots of love and attention for a short 1-1/2 years before she passed away 6-7-2009 of heart failure.  The "Pink Garden" in our backyard was created so Sybil could have a proper resting place and also to give Sophie a memorial.

I have very few good photos of Sybil because she was not real photogenic.
This is my most favorite photo of her, taken on January 7, 2009.

To match Sybil's colors, I chose light blue, peach and brown as the color palette.  She had an orangey-peach colored 'kissing dot' on the top of her head. Her nose was peach colored too.  Her eyes were the lightest, prettiest baby blue.  First, the page was sprayed with light blue and peach colors to start the layout.

The corner chippie is a gorgeous piece from Blue Fern Studios called Timeless Floral Corner.  I emboss-painted it using Fran-táge Aged Ochre & Shabby Blue, as well as Lindy's Stamp Gang Fiddlehead Fern Green Blue.  Salmon colored diamond dust, rhinestones in baby blue & peach colors, Wild Orchid Crafts mini peach colored Sweetheart Blossoms and Flower Soft in Pale Green color finished the piece.

Sizzix Tattered Florals BigZ die gave shape to the blue marbled vellum flowers I made.
Metal bead separators were used for the flower centers.

Even a tiny antique-white resin frame got a make-over with Fran-táge Shabby Blue embossing.

I used The Dusty Attic Foliage to create flower stems for the Wild Orchid Crafts peach colored Sweetheart Blossoms.  I took pieces off the Foliage, heat embossed in Fran-táge Aged Ochre & Shabby Blue; then randomly placed them on the page...along with Rose-Gold colored rhinestones.

The Want2Scrap custom ordered chipboard title was left in its natural state and topped with Glossy Accents.

I really wanted to make a soft, dainty page with 'sparkle' for sweet Sybil.
I'm very happy how this turned out because she certainly deserves a pretty page.

Happy 2016 and thanks so much for visiting!  Lisa : )  >^..^<

  1. Oh, Lisa, Sybil was so gorgeous! I'm so glad she had happy times with those that loved her. And, your page is so very, very beautiful. I love the soft colors, chippies and the punching. Sybil passed in 2009 of heart failure, as did my beautiful black cat - Blossum. We took him to a vet-heart specialist in St. Louis - and he gave us a few more months with our baby - but he passed in September of 2009. I miss him every day. I just know that Sybil and Blossum are friends at the Rainbow Bridge.

  3. Beautiful, Lisa! Sweet photo of Sybil! Love all the chipboard treatments! Don't think I have the Fran-tage embossing enamel in Aged Ochre yet. Might have to add that to my collection, lol.
