8-29-25 Amazing Mandala Pattern

 This is a really cool page and I enjoyed coloring it!

I love the two unique mandala patterns on the page 

and how the artist blended them together so beautifully!

I decided that each mandala pattern would have its own set of colors, 

making them unique and stand out on their own.

These are the colored pencils that I used.

Polychromos colors were used for the large mandala, 

as well as the same ones throughout the page.

The Prismacolor colors were used on the smaller mandalas.

Elizabeth's 2025 Birthday Card

 I made my friend, Elizabeth, a hand drawn birthday card

of one of her favorite flowers, the peony.

Her favorite color is purple

and she especially likes the combination of colors lavender with mint.

A mint green colored mini pastel is rubbed on the background 

with a wedge makeup sponge.

For the flower, I chose to use Violet with Purple Violet as the darker accents.

The leaves are Permanent Green Olive with Chrome Oxide Green accents.

The stamen are colored in Dark Cadmium Yellow.

The corner has the prettiest glitter enamel dots. 

The inside sentiment is printed and corner punched.

Although I'm not a very good drawing artist

and have trouble with dimension & making things look 'curved',

I'm actually feeling pretty good how this peony turned out.

8-23-25 Mandala

 Today's mandala comes from a new coloring book I bought.

Kim Mansamer (a.k.a. Coloring Book Kim) draws the best mandalas!

I picked a color cube card and quite amazingly made some perfect matches!

These are the colors I chose which perfectly match the color cube card I selected.  I did add yellow ochre which wasn't on the color card.

8-20-25 Amazing Mandala Pattern

WOW! 

I really love the colors in this mandala pattern!

I used Color Cube Card #358 and also added a nice green color.

The background is done in a pale peach.

I'm truly amazed how close I was able to match the color cube card colors!

These are the colors I used in the Prismacolor Premiers

and the Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils.

Another very enjoyable page to color!!
