Carmel's 2025 Birthday Card

Carmel's favorite flower is the Camellia
and her favorite color is red.
I have trouble with depth perception when drawing.
I've mentioned on other posts just how difficult it is for me to draw anything.
It's a real struggle.
So, if I can draw a decent flower after numerous tries,
I just go with it.
I'm not real pleased with this, but it was the best out of the multiple drawings.

I chose the color "Madder" in the Polychromos pencils
and the color "Crimson Lake" in the Prismacolor Premiers pencils
for the flower petals.
The leaves are done in "Prussian Green" Prismacolor Premier pencil.

I used liquid pearls in "Sunflower" color to bring out the stamen tips.
Cute enamel dots decorate the corners.

The flower name is raised with foam adhesive tape.
Using a makeup sponge, I applied two pastel chalk colors for the background.
I chose Cadmium Yellow & Alizarin Crimson.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!
Lisa

Garden Iguana - Ken Matsuda Art

This is a really cool Iguana by phenomenal Japanese artist, Ken Matsuda.
I love his artistic imagination!

I chose to color him in a Celadon Green with shadings of Jade.
The background is Light Cobalt Turquoise,
a mini pastel, rubbed on with a make up wedge & a Q-Tip.

The flowers are Carmine Red with accents of Crimson Red.
The stamen centers are Jasmine & Golden Rod colors.
The leaves are Olive Green with Prussian Green accents.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed weekend and SPRING FORWARD!
